Terms of Service

Last updated: [Effective date] · version 2026-10-16.2

Draft, pending TOR and lawyer review

This page is a draft and is not in force yet. Text in [brackets] marks a fact or a decision that is still open.

These terms are an agreement between you and [Legal entity name] ("AZRouter", "we", "us"). They cover the azrouter.dev website, its dashboard and the API at https://api.azrouter.dev/v1 (together, the "Service").

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms, to our Privacy Policy and to our Refund Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

01The Service

AZRouter resells access to AI models made by other companies. You call them through one OpenAI-compatible API at https://api.azrouter.dev/v1, and manage your account on azrouter.dev.

We do not run the models ourselves. We forward each request to an upstream provider. That provider may be the company that made the model, or a reseller such as OpenRouter. The provider runs the model and sends back the output.

We choose which upstream provider handles each request. We can add or remove models at any time. The models page lists the models you can use today and their prices.

02Eligibility

  • You must be at least [Minimum age] years old to use the Service.
  • If you use the Service for a company or other organisation, you confirm that you can accept these terms for it.
  • [Countries or regions where the Service is not offered]

03Accounts and API keys

3.1Your account

You sign up with an email address and a password. Google or GitHub sign-in appears only when we have turned it on. Give us accurate details and keep your password safe. You are responsible for everything done in your account.

3.2API keys

  • We show each API key once, when you create it. We store only a hash of the key, so we cannot show it to you again.
  • Keep keys on your server. Do not put a key in a browser page or a mobile app.
  • If a key leaks, revoke it in the dashboard. A revoked key stops working.
  • You pay for every request made with your keys, including requests from anyone who has one of your keys.

04Credits and payment

4.1Prepaid credits

The Service is prepaid. You buy credits in US dollars before you make paid requests, and Stripe processes the card payment. Card top-ups open when payments are connected. Until then, top-ups are switched off and nothing is charged.

  • [Minimum and maximum top-up amounts]
  • [Fees or taxes added to a top-up]

4.2How usage is charged

Each model is priced per unit: per token (input, output, cache read and cache write), per image, per second, per character or per request. We meter every request and take its cost from your credit balance. Each model's page lists its prices.

[Whether requests that fail are charged]

4.3Refunds and expiry

Refunds, credit expiry, promotional credits and chargebacks are covered by our Refund Policy, which is part of these terms.

4.4What credits are

Credits pay for the Service and nothing else. There is no way to move credits to another account or to withdraw them.

4.5Price changes

Prices can change, for example when an upstream provider changes its own price. A request is charged at the price in effect when it is made. [Advance notice of price changes, if any]

05Models and upstream providers

  • The upstream provider's own terms and usage policies also apply to your requests and to the output. [Links to each upstream provider's terms]
  • Upstream providers can change, limit or retire a model. A model can be slow or unavailable at times.
  • We do not promise that any model will be available. [Uptime or support commitment, if any]

06Your content and model training

"Inputs" are the prompts, messages, files, images, audio, video and any other content you or your users send through the Service, from the API or the playground. "Outputs" are what a model returns. Inputs and Outputs together are "Content".

6.1Licence to store and to train models

You grant AZRouter, our upstream API providers and the owners of the models you use a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual licence to store, copy, process and use the Content you submit through the Service, including to train, evaluate and improve artificial intelligence models and services. Each of them may exercise this licence through their own service providers. The licence continues after you stop using the Service or close your account, and Content already used to train a model cannot be removed from that model.

6.2A condition of using the Service

Accepting section 6 is a condition of using the Service. You accept it when you create an account. If your account existed before this version, you must accept it before you can use the dashboard or create new API keys. If you do not accept it, do not use the Service.

6.3What you may send

You promise that:

  • you own the Inputs or have every right, licence and permission needed to submit them and to grant the licence in 6.1;
  • you will not submit special-category or other sensitive personal data, such as data about health, genetics or biometrics, racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade-union membership, sex life or sexual orientation, criminal records, government identity numbers, payment card or bank account numbers, or personal data about children;
  • you will not submit confidential information of anyone else that you are not allowed to share, for example under a confidentiality agreement; and
  • where Content includes personal data about other people, you have a lawful basis, and have given any notice the law requires, for that data to be used as section 6.1 describes.

6.4Ownership and Outputs

  • As between you and AZRouter, you keep the rights you have in your Inputs and, as far as the law and the upstream provider's terms allow, in the Outputs. [Lawyer to confirm Output ownership wording]
  • We send Inputs to the upstream provider that runs the model. That provider's own terms and privacy policy also apply to the Content, including how it keeps and uses it.
  • Outputs can be wrong or incomplete. Check them before you rely on them. You are responsible for how you use them.

How Content is stored, used and shared, and your rights over personal data in it, are set out in the Privacy Policy.

07Acceptable use

You must not:

  • break the law or an upstream provider's usage policy;
  • send content you have no right to send;
  • get around rate limits, spending limits or billing;
  • attack, probe or overload the Service or the people who use it;
  • pay with a card or account that is not yours;
  • share or resell your access. [Whether reselling access is allowed, and on what terms]

Rate limits apply to the API and to this website. The API's usage-tier limits are in the docs; limits that protect the website and the edge aren't published and can change without notice.

08Suspension and closing your account

You can stop using the Service at any time. To close your account, email [email protected] from the address on the account.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the Service at risk. If a card payment is disputed and the dispute is lost, we freeze the account and disable its API keys until we review it.

What happens to unused credits when an account is closed is set out in the Refund Policy.

09Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. We will post the new version on this page with a new date and version. [How and how far in advance we tell you about important changes] When a change affects how your Content is used, you must accept the new version before you can use the dashboard or create new API keys; API keys you already have keep working. [Whether existing keys stop after a grace period if the new version is not accepted] For other changes, if you keep using the Service after a change takes effect, you accept the new terms.

10Disclaimers

We provide the Service as it is. We do not promise that it will be free of errors or always available, or that outputs will be accurate.

[Full disclaimer wording, reviewed by a lawyer]

11Limitation of liability

  • [Liability cap, for example the amount you paid in the 12 months before a claim]
  • [Kinds of loss we are not liable for]

12Indemnity

[Whether you cover our costs for claims caused by your use of the Service, and how far]

13Governing law and disputes

  • [Governing law and venue]
  • [Whether disputes go to arbitration or to court, and any class-action waiver]

14General

If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest still applies. [Other general clauses: assignment, entire agreement, notices]
